Y6 Leavers Hoodies
Fri 19 Apr 2024Leavers Hoodies 2024
Please follow this link to order your child’s school Leavers Hoodie: https://rosarycatholicprimaryschool.deco-apparel.com/shop
The deadline for ordering is TUESDAY 7th MAY. Once the online shop has closed, you will not be able to order a hoodie.
You can choose a child or adult size and we would recommend buying a larger size than their usual, so they have room to grow into it. Some schools restrict the colours their pupils’ can order, but we are happy to allow pupils to express themselves, so they are welcome to choose whichever colour they’d like from the wide range available. If you would like to add your child’s name or a nickname to the back of the hoodie, please enter this in the box.
Please select FREE shipping. All hoodies will be delivered to school mid-May and handed out to the pupils.
We are happy for pupils to wear their hoodies in school after the Summer half term, on PE and Fitness Friday/Forest School days only.
If you have any questions, please contact the school office or Mrs Forward-Davies.
Please note: currently the Kids page of the online shop is not working properly. It is being fixed!

Free School Meal Vouchers for Easter and May half-term holidays
Thu 07 Mar 2024Applications for Holiday Free School Meal vouchers for the Easter 2024 and May 2024 holidays are open until midday 12 March.
The vouchers are funded through grant funding separate to that of term time free school meals.
Vouchers for the May half-term will be distributed at the same time as those for the Easter holiday period. Therefore, families who have signed up will receive a total of £30 per eligible child, comprising of;1 week (£15) for Easter 2024 and 1 week (£15) for May 2024 half-term.
During 2024, there will be food and activity support available via the HAF programme (during Spring, Summer and Winter holiday periods). This is a separately funded scheme that provides the children who book and attend events with a meal. The HAF programme is not able distribute food/supermarket vouchers.
For more information on the HAF programme please visit their webpage here: Holiday activities and food programme (HAF) | Gloucestershire County Council
The holiday voucher scheme is for children in Reception to Year 11 who receive Pupil Premium (income-related) free school meals and attend a school in Gloucestershire. It is not for college and sixth form students or children who receive universal infant free school meals (available to all children in Reception to Year 2), who are not eligible for this scheme.
Families who have signed up previously do not need to re-register for Easter 2024 and May 2024 holiday vouchers - they will already have been included. Families that have previously signed up will need to contact GCC with any changes to their circumstances. If you have not previously signed up, do so as soon as you can.
Voucher emails will be sent out week commencing 18 March. Please check their junk/spam email folders during this period as sometimes the vouchers end up there. If you have not received your vouchers by the 20 March, please email childrensfund@gloucestershire.gov.uk.
Please note eligibility for the scheme is cross-referenced with the term-time free school meal register, so please make sure you are registered for Free School Meals before applying.
For more information and to sign up, please visit the website - Holiday School Meal vouchers.
If you have any updates to an existing application, please email childrensfund@gloucestershire.gov.uk so that your details can be updated, as this is not an automatic process.

As part of our World Book Day celebrations this year, The Rosary Masked Reader event is back - and it's bigger and better than ever! With 28 staff members 'masking' their identities, children will have a real challenge trying to guess each reader of the story.
Your child(ren) will come home with a sheet to compete. Scan the QR code on the sheet or click the link below to find the video. Answers will be ‘revealed’ during a second video, which will be sent out at the end of the week. Enjoy and keep reading!!

World Book Day -Thursday 7 March 2024
Mon 12 Feb 2024Once again, we are inviting the children to dress up for World Book Day, however, this year we are doing things a bit differently. We would like the children to choose a WORD to dress up as. This can be as simple or flamboyant as you wish to be! There is no need to buy any expensive costumes, please just use things you already have to hand at home! Your child could come “colourful” or as a specific colour. They could be fluorescent or camouflage. They could be spotty or stripy. S/he could be a hero and dress up as brave or be covered in stars to be magic. They could come as an animal or even the weather! A simple search online will reveal a wealth of ideas to help inspire you. The school staff are preparing for another “Masked Reader” video and a new and exciting competition will be launched after half term that we are looking forward to revealing to you! We cannot wait to see your children’s outfits on Thursday 7th March! Many thanks, Mrs Phillips (Early Reading Lead) and Mrs Forward-Davies (Writing and KS2 Reading Lead)

Important Staffing News
Fri 24 Nov 2023We have some other good news to share: Mrs Knighton, who has been Co-Headteacher with me since September, is expecting another baby! She is planning to go on maternity leave just before half term in February. As I have other family commitments 2 days a week, the Rosary School Governors and Trustees of the Little Way Catholic Educational Trust have agreed the appointment of another Co-Headteacher to work at the school, until Mrs Knighton returns from maternity leave later in the school year. Mr Paul Batchelor is an experienced Headteacher of a church school, (one of the schools we worked closely with last year). He will be joining us in January for 2 days a week, so he can liaise with Mrs Knighton before she goes on maternity leave. After half term, Mr Batchelor will be Headteacher on Mondays and Tuesdays and I will be in school from Wednesday to Friday. I am delighted that we have been able to make this temporary appointment to cover for Mrs Knighton’s absence. We offer her congratulations on this wonderful news and wish her well for the rest of her pregnancy.

Little Way Catholic Educational Trust
Fri 24 Nov 2023As anticipated, on 22 November 2023, the Governing Board voted to continue the journey to form the Little Way Catholic Educational Trust with 5 other Catholic primary schools in Gloucestershire. Our change in status from a Single Academy Trust to being part of a Multi-Academy Trust will take effect from 1 January 2024. It will be great to be part of a family of Catholic schools and work towards a shared vision. However, most aspects of the day-to-day running of the school will be unchanged. The name, uniform and ethos of our school will remain the same. We will continue to collaborate with local schools in the Stroud area. The Governing Board will become a Local Governing Committee and we will still have autonomy over how we spend our school funds.
