Christmas Card Design Competition
The children in Years 2, 3 and 4 were invited to design a Christmas card for Home-Start, a great organisation that supports helping families with young children through their challenging times. We are delighted that two of our pupils were runners up in the competition, and three children were winners - whose designs have been printed and will be sold to raise money for Home-Start. Congratulations to Sunny, Emma, Esmae, Aster and Benedict.
The children were set the enjoyable task in Art to create something on the theme of SUNFLOWERS. They produced some wonderful pieces of art, demonstrating different media and individual designs. Parents were invited to visit our exhibition after Sports Day and were very impressed with the the collection!
Design a Book Cover Competition
For World Book Day this year, we asked the children to design a brand new book cover for their favourite book. We had some wonderful entries and the winners from each class are below!
Black History Month
During Black History Month we were inspired in lessons learning how countless generations of people of African and Caribbean descent have shaped our nation's history and culture. Each year group focused on different icons and trailblazers.
Year 3 are currently studying Prehistoric Adventure. The children will be covering texts, media and challenges connected to eras before recorded history - the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.
Gladiator poster designs from Year 4’s Rampaging Romans topic.
A School Recipe Poem
Year 3 has been reading Benjamin Zephaniah’s poem ‘The British’. Lily B wrote a beautiful recipe poem called ‘A Perfect School’ based on Zephaniah’s work.
