Coronavirus Update
Coronavirus Risk Assessment
Our Risk Assessment has been reviewed in the light of revised advice from The Department for Education on 31st March. Within school, we will continue to use extra hygiene measures and ventilation to try to reduce transmission of the Covid-19 virus. After Easter, break and lunchtimes will no longer be staggered and children in different classes will be able to mix outdoors. The end of the school day will alter slightly, with a 3.10pm finish for Infants (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) and 3.15pm for KS2. Parents will continue to collect KS1 and KS2 children from the school field, and Reception pupils from outside their classroom.
At the Rosary School, if LFTs are available, we ask members of the school community - staff, children or parents, who experience cold-like symptoms, to take a LFT test. If this test is positive, you should isolate. and close contacts are advised to take a LFT too. The test date is Day ZERO of a 5 day isolation period. Children can return to school after 3 days of isolation (see advice from the DfE below). We request that siblings are tested using LFTs, if possible, to ensure they do not come to school and possibly spread Covid.
The new advice from the Department for Education is as follows:
|
"The population now has much stronger protection against COVID-19 than at any other point in the pandemic. This means we can begin to manage the virus like other respiratory infections, thanks to the success of the vaccination programme and access to antivirals, alongside natural immunity and increased scientific and public understanding about how to manage risk."
Morning and End of Day Arrangements
In the morning, please wait with your child(ren) at the end of the lane, keeping 2m apart from other families. Mrs Humphery will indicate when children can start to walk down the lane (this will not be before 8.35am). Please make sure your children are at school by 8.50am at the latest.
The end of the day will remain staggered for the time being:
- 3.05pm Infants only
- 3.10pm Infants/KS2 pupils
- 3.15pm KS2 pupils only
Parents are requested to wait at the blue gate, queuing 2m apart, if necessary, until they are invited on to the field to collect their children.
Parents with children in Reception and KS1 can collect all their children together directly from the Reception play area. They do not need to go onto the field.
Unless you have a child in Reception, please go back down the slope, rather than down the steps using the one way system. Please keep your children with you and take care, keeping to the right, to avoid bumping into other parents coming up the slope.
Parents with children in Reception and KS2 should collect their older children from the field first and then go to the Reception play area.
Please do not wait outside the Hall when collecting your children, as you will be in the way of KS2 children going up onto the field.
Thank you for your co-operation. Please follow these rules and help to keep everyone safe.
