House System
Competition
Our houses play a significant role in our school. Not only do our children join their classes but they join a bigger community in their school houses – thus nurturing that sense of belonging. The children are fiercely proud of their houses and love to represent them in the many competitions we offer at our school. Children at the Rosary School are each allocated to one of the four 'Houses' named after Catholic pilgrimage sites: Fatima, Glastonbury, Lourdes and Walsingham.
House Captains
Y6 pupils (one girl and one boy from each house) are democratically elected by the whole school, as House Captains and Vice Captains each September. Within our school houses the children take part in a variety of inter-competitions from choir to athletics, and a whole lot more.
There are various Inter-house competitions throughout the year:
- Inter-house Choir Competition-October
- Inter-house Sports Tournament-March
- Inter-house Sports Day-July
- Pupils also compete by house for the greatest number of house points earned each year.
As well as the excitement that competition can bring to our lives, we develop and encourage our pupils to be gracious in their win or loss. This is an important lesson in life.
