Values and Ethos

Our school vision

We will provide every pupil with an excellent education.

We will model Catholic community and love and welcome all families whatever their background.

Our school will be a thriving, inclusive community where everyone can flourish, through high-quality teaching and varied, hands-on experiences.

Pupils will be equipped for secondary education and beyond, with equal emphasis on pupils’ academic success, their social, cultural, and spiritual development, and their emotional wellbeing.

Our school values

Love, Inclusivity, Aspiration, Curiosity, Respect

How we chose our school values

We worked together as a school community, to agree our set of five school values.  We chose these values to bring us all together, and provide us with a solid foundation to live within.  When choosing our values, we considered our Catholic Ethos, British Values, and the experiences and backgrounds of our pupils.  Our values convey to us and the wider community, who we are and what is important to us, to our wellbeing, growth and social cohesion.  Our school values have also been chosen to help challenge us as a community and to inspire all of us to be our best selves.  Throughout our school life, from forming our strategic direction, to curriculum design and playground rules, we draw on our values to shape us.  Our values should be visible in the everyday life of our school.  Please get in touch if you would like to come and see for yourself.

Our school values in action

  • Love  We believe that pupils do their best when they feel cared for and loved.
  • Inclusivity  We believe that pupils do their best when they feel valued and welcomed, whatever their background or talents.
  • Aspiration  We believe that pupils do their best when they are encouraged to aim high and achieve their best in all aspects of learning.
  • Curiosity   We believe that pupils do their best when their curiosity is awoken through good teaching, wide reading, and a broad range of experiences.
  • Respect  We believe that pupils should respect all those they encounter, and also have a healthy measure of self-respect.

Our School Mission and Ethos

Our Catholic faith is at the very heart of our school and this is evident as soon as you step through the doors of the Rosary School.   Everyone within the school works very hard to treat each other with care and respect.

We do our best, following in the footsteps of Jesus.

"It is an open and welcoming school where pupils and their families, from all faiths and none, are warmly invited and integrated. The school leaders and governors have the promotion and nurturing of the school’s Catholic life and mission as their first care and priority, and are employing effective processes to monitor and plan for improvement, making fruitful use of outside resources, advice, and diocesan training".
