Welcome to our Year 2 page!

Our topic for the Spring term is Flying Around.

Click here for the Curriculum Map.

We will be exploring how flying machines have changed over the last 100 years as well as investigating the achievements of Amy Johnson, Amelia Earhart and Neil Armstrong.

*

Linked to our topic, the children have been given an optional homework grid with a range of different tasks to complete. For more information, click here.

English

We are using the book Beegu by Alexis Deacon.

*

We are also focussing on our use of punctuation and the words we are choosing to make our writing exciting.

Maths

We have completed units on number and place value and addition and subtraction. We will now be working on multiplication and division as well as properties of shape.

Our class saint is Saint Paul

We have been learning about St Paul and created a display to share our learning about him with the rest of the school. We will continue to learn about Saint Paul throughout the year as well as celebrate his feast day in June.

Things to remember:

Mondays - PE (we will also be doing the daily mile four times a week)

Wednesday - Forest School will start again after half term.

Thursday - School library once a fortnight (starting on 16-01-20)

Friday - I will continue to be out of class on a Friday afternoon.     Mrs Liber will be teaching the children during this time.
