Welcome to our Year 2 page!

Our topic for the Autumn Term is Extreme Explorers.

Click here for the Curriculum Map.

We will begin by using a range of sources to investigate the lives of different explorers throughout history. Then, we will look in detail at hot and cold areas of the world.

*

Linked to our topic, here are a range of activities that the children might like to complete at home.

English

We are reading The Dark by Lemony Snicket. Throughout this unit, we will work on our use of adjectives, conjunctions and the past tense. We will write our own stories about fears as well as write a poem.

*

We are also focussing on our use of punctuation and the words we are choosing to make our writing exciting.

Maths

This term, we will be working on and developing our Number and Place Value, 3D shape and Addition skills.

Click here to see our knowledge organiser for Term 1.

Our class saint is Saint Paul

We have been learning about St Paul and created a display to share our learning about him with the rest of the school. We will continue to learn about Saint Paul throughout the year as well as celebrate his feast day in June.

Things to remember:

Forest School will be on alternate Mondays (Week A) starting on 14th September.

PE will be every Tuesday afternoon (we will also be doing the daily mile four times a week).

PPA - I will be out of class on a Thursday afternoon.  Mrs Liber will be teaching the children during this time.
