Helping in School

If any parents, grandparents or carers have some spare time during the week to help out in school in various ways, we would really appreciate any offers and would be pleased to welcome you into school. The following are ways in which you could support the work of the school:

Hearing individual children read

Not all parents/carers have the time to hear their children read every day. Children really do benefit from regular practice and adult support with reading, which we are not able to provide on a daily basis. If you have a couple of hours to hear children read, please let us know which day would suit you. We can provide ‘training’. Afternoons work best, or first thing in the morning.

 Forest School

We need extra adults for the Forest School sessions, to encourage the children in developing their problem solving skills and team work. Because of the wet weather we have had and the need to let the ground ‘recover’, it is likely that sessions will move to once a fortnight when they begin again after half term. If you are able to help out once a fortnight with your child’s class sessions it would be much appreciated. You will need wellies and a waterproof coat!

 Golden Time

It would be good to have some extra adults during Golden Time, which is 2.30-3.00pm on Friday afternoons. It may be that you have a particular talent or interest you could share, such as sewing/knitting, art, music or drama perhaps.

If you can help with any of the above, or in another way, please complete the reply slip on this Memo re Help in School. Thank you for your support.
