Meet the Rosary School Governors

Mrs Maeve Maxwell

I am a former pupil of The Rosary School and also chose The Rosary School for my daughter. Education matters hugely to me and so I consider myself fortunate to have spent my career, to date, working in primary, secondary, special and further education.  It is very important to me that children enjoy their time at school; using it as a springboard into a fulfilling life in which they utilise their skills and talents to the full.

Appointed by: Governing Body

Current term of office began: 5 Feb 2019

Personal, business and pecuniary interests: Children at school

I have lived in Stroud for over 20 years. I have been married to Kerry for 9 years and we have two wonderful children who attend the Rosary School. We are part of the local Catholic community and I am very passionate about community and family spirit. I work for Royal Mail as an Operational Manager and have developed skills which I can bring to the parent governor role in communication, relationship building, data analysis, customer focus and handling disputes. As a governor, I want to be part of a team which makes sure the school provides a good quality education, meets its aims and policies and improves effective governance. I am committed to supporting the school team who, day in and day out, come to work to coach, teach and inspire the next generation.

Mrs Heidi Otter

Appointed as: Parent Governor, SEND Governor

Appointed by: Governing Body

Current term of office began: 11 Oct 2019

Current Term of office Ends: 10 Oct 2023

Committees: Resources

Personal, business and pecuniary interests: Children at school, Company Director, Lumivo Ltd

I worked for many years in the area of operational improvement but more recently took a sidestep and co-founded a small company which carries out research identifying good website design.  I enjoy improving work processes and communications via adopting good IT systems that fit the needs of an organisation well.  I also enjoy strengthening community and support structures for families - I know how tough and isolating it can be looking after a young family.  I am passionate about education and my focus as the SEN governor is to help ensure that we at the Rosary School do our very best to give every child here the opportunity to build their self confidence, be proud of their achievements and reach their potential.

Philip Rush was headteacher at St Peter’s High School, Gloucester, until his retirement in 2017.  He is committed to Catholic education; he attended the Salesian College in Chertsey as a schoolboy and he taught at St Peter’s for over thirty years.  He believes that the function of education should be to enable pupils to discover their talents and then to develop them.
