Welcome to Year 5.

The children and I recently visited the Gloucester Folk Museum to experience life in a Victorian School and life as a Victorian Domestic Servant.

We had a wonderful time. Children dressed in Victorian Costumes and spent an hour in a Victorian Classroom with a Victorian-type teacher! It was very different to life in schools today. They were surprised that children had to PAY to go to school and were shocked at some of the harsh punishments administered to children. Some got a chance to try out Finger Stocks and Back Straighteners.
